What we do

Checkout connected to stock and customers

LinkIT builds point of sale for counters that need to share stock, prices and customer records with the back office. Checkout, the receipt and the resulting inventory change belong to the same working record.

  1. 01

    Find the right item

Build scanning and search around the catalog the counter sells.

  2. 02

    Use the right record

Carry customer pricing and stock into checkout.

  3. 03

    Retain the sale record

Keep the receipt and sale available to the office afterwards.

When counter sales use separate stock and price records, staff have to reconcile them with orders from the warehouse, website, or phone. LinkIT builds POS around a shared inventory and customer record.

The counter workflow includes checkout, account charges, receipts, and the resulting stock changes.

The problem we take on

A trade counter may need case quantities, account-specific prices, credit terms, and stock reserved by other order channels. Those requirements need to be part of checkout design.

We review the exceptions staff handle manually and determine whether the existing POS can support them or needs an integration or replacement.

What we build

The build is scoped to the counter’s catalog, customers, and transaction rules.

  • Checkout — scan or search, quantity, tax as the business defines it, tender or on-account.
  • The same inventory the rest of the company uses, decremented when the sale happens.
  • Customer accounts and the prices those accounts are owed, applied during checkout.
  • A receipt and a record the office can find tomorrow.

For the broader portal, warehouse, and account workflow, see wholesale distribution systems. A counter system can be the first phase of that work.

Who this is for

Operators who sell at a counter and keep accounts — distributors with a will-call window, suppliers with a front room, anyone whose POS has to respect the same stock and price list as the office.

Some kinds of counter have their own page:

A poor fit: a single-location café that should just use a commodity POS, or a request to resell and support a hardware franchise.

LinkIT is based in Chicago and works with operators across Chicagoland and the Midwest.

How we work

We review counter operations, including open tickets, account pickups, case quantities, and unit sales. The first version uses the actual catalog and validated totals. Payment integrations, account rules, and hardware are added within the agreed scope. You receive progress notes and own the system.

You can see this running at Gokul Wholesale and in SypNSave and SyPos.

Before we build

Good questions.
Clear answers.

A little more about the work, the scope, and what to expect.

Why not Square, Clover, or a restaurant POS?

Compare an existing POS against your account pricing, inventory, credit, and hardware needs. Custom work may fit when the required workflow or integrations are not adequately supported.

Is this a wholesale portal with a cash drawer?

The portal supports remote customer orders. POS supports counter sales: scanning, totals, tender or account charges, and receipts. Both can use the same customer and inventory records.

Do you handle payments?

Payment integration is scoped around a provider that supports your business and category. Provider eligibility must be confirmed; LinkIT is not a payment facilitator.
