What we do

Liquor-store checkout and loyalty

LinkIT built SyPos, an Android point of sale and owner web portal for liquor stores, alongside the SypNSave shopper app. SyPos handles cash sales, refunds, shifts, loyalty cards, store tax settings and manual ID checks.

See SyPos and SypNSave

LinkIT, in Chicago, IL, built SyPos, a point of sale for liquor stores, and SypNSave, the Chicago app shoppers use to find local liquor-store offers and earn points.

SyPos is our own product. It is an Android POS app for the counter, a web portal for the owner, and an API behind both. SypNSave is the shopper app on iPhone and Android, with local offers, points and rewards, and bar-crawl trails. We build both from Chicago for stores across Chicagoland.

What the register does today

  • Product search and cart at the counter.
  • Cash sales and full refunds.
  • Held carts, so a clerk can park a sale and come back to it.
  • Shifts and closeouts for each stretch of work.
  • Invoices, receipts and customer records.
  • Loyalty cards with a points ledger.
  • Stock adjustments when the count on the shelf changes.
  • Staff permissions that control who can do what.
  • Local tax settings per store.
  • A manual ID check step at checkout.

Staff use the Android app at the counter. Owners use the web portal for the same store.

The shopper app

SypNSave is where shoppers find offers from local liquor stores, earn points at participating stores, and follow bar-crawl trails. Stores can sign up at sypnsave.com.

SyPos handles the store’s register workflow; SypNSave provides the shopper-facing offers and rewards experience.

Not live yet

  • Card payments. SyPos takes cash today. Card and split payments require a processor integration and validation before activation.
  • Automatic ID scanning. ID checks are manual for now.

Hardware

SyPos runs on an Android POS terminal at the counter, with the owner portal in any browser.

Who it is for

Liquor stores in Chicagoland that want a register and a shopper app that work together. If you run one store and an off-the-shelf POS does the job, keep it.

Before we build

Good questions.
Clear answers.

A little more about the work, the scope, and what to expect.

Is there a liquor store POS built in Chicago?

Yes. LinkIT, based in Chicago, IL, built the SyPos point of sale for liquor stores, along with SypNSave, a Chicago app for local liquor-store offers and rewards.

Does it include a loyalty program?

Yes. SyPos has loyalty cards with a points ledger, and SypNSave lets shoppers find offers and earn points at participating stores.

Does it handle Chicago and Cook County liquor tax?

Each store sets up its own local tax rates in SyPos, and every sale uses that store's settings.

Does it check IDs?

Checkout has a manual ID check step where staff confirm the customer's ID. Automatic ID scanning is not live yet.

Does it take card payments?

Not yet. SyPos takes cash today. Card and split payments require a processor integration and validation before activation.

Can it share inventory with my other stores or my wholesaler?

SyPos can run several stores under one organization. Sharing inventory between stores, or with a wholesaler, is not part of it today.
