A manufacturer used separate spreadsheets, accounting software and a warehouse system for inventory, production and finance. Staff reconciled those records manually.
LinkIT built a custom ERP around the manufacturer’s existing processes.
The problem
Orders were re-entered for production, stock counts differed between teams, and finance relied on exports. The rollout had to keep the business operating while replacing those handoffs.
The work included cleaning duplicate vendors and inconsistent SKUs, migrating historical records, and designing screens for staff on the production floor.
What we built
- Inventory and warehouse tools: stock by location, barcode receiving and picking, and reorder points.
- Production scheduling: work orders connected to materials, output and costing.
- Finance integration: accounts payable, accounts receivable and general-ledger entries from operational events.
- Reporting: open orders, shipments, inventory and margin by product line.
Receipts, production reports, shipments and sales orders write to a shared event ledger used by the other modules.
How we approached it
Inventory went first. The team compared the new counts with the existing records and resolved discrepancies before switching over.
A separate migration pipeline normalized SKUs, removed duplicate vendors and flagged ambiguous records for review. Each module was introduced with staff training before it became the primary tool.
Delivered system
The ERP connects inventory, production and finance, with a phased rollout that allowed shipping to continue.
