How we plan and review software each week

How LinkIT uses weekly planning and written build notes to review completed work, next steps, and blockers.

A weekly delivery review gives the team and client a regular point to inspect work and decide what comes next. Our build notes separate completed work, upcoming priorities, and blockers.

The unit of work is a week

We plan in weekly increments: agree on a useful piece of work, then review what is ready at the end of the week. A build note records its status and links to the result when available.

Use the review to surface stalled tasks and adjust the next increment.

Build notes over status meetings

The weekly build note covers:

  • What shipped — with a link you can click.
  • What's next — the single most important thing for the coming week.
  • What's blocked — and exactly what we need from you to unblock it.

The written record lets the team review status without relying on a meeting recap.

Review the Work Before Choosing the Next Step

When progress is visible, scope conversations get honest. You can see the tradeoffs because you're looking at the actual product, not a slide about it. Founders make better calls when they're reacting to something real.

Record scope decisions alongside the work so priorities and trade-offs remain clear.
